Why I Started Safe and Sound Driving School

When my daughter became permit-ready, everything I’d learned over 25 years of safety experience came full circle.

Before founding this school, I spent years training professional drivers at a Fortune 500 transportation company — helping people build confidence behind the wheel through hands-on coaching, road awareness, and defensive driving habits. I led everything from new driver programs to on-road evaluations and hazard anticipation drills.

At Safe and Sound Driving School, we follow Hawaiʻi’s state-certified curriculum to help teens earn their Graduated Driver’s License — and build lifelong defensive driving habits.

📚 30 Hours Classroom Instruction
Approved by the State of Hawaiʻi, this course teaches traffic laws, road signs, defensive driving, and more — all in a teen-friendly, engaging format. No permit required to enroll!

🛞 6 Hours Behind-the-Wheel (BTW)
Private, 1-on-1 driving lessons after classroom completion. Practice real road skills with a certified instructor guiding you step-by-step.

📘 What We Use:
We teach with AAA’s “How to Drive” 15th Edition — the gold standard in driving education.

🛑 This isn’t just about passing a test — it’s about protecting your teen for the real road.
